Saint Patrick´s Day
17th March is the national day of Ireland because they commemorate Saint Patrick. This man was in charge of introducing Christianism in Irish lands during the 5th century. This day is also celebrated all over the world as Irish people are spread over the five continents. Moreover, the biggest parade happens in New York city! We, as a catholic and bilingual school, have paid a small tribute to Saint Patrick and to the Irish people, and mainly to our dearest Irish teacher Maureen. Our children have learnt about this Saint, Irish symbols and anthem, everything in green…
Enjoying Saint Patrick’s in our school today means enjoying learning. As you really know, learning is not only a process of reading books and doing homework. Learning is acting, learning is living. We couldn’t let the opportunity go. Mo is our speaking teacher and since she is Irish and she can share with us her experiences of life and learning, we have celebrated Saint Patrick in the only way we know: showing tenderness and love to Mo and making her laugh and smile till her face hurts.
Happy Saint Patrick´s Day!!
